Depression typically contains elements of lethargy and ruminative cognitions that stem from different underlying causes: neurobiology alone, situational stressors, trauma or aversive childhood experiences. Most people seek treatment when they feel unable to meet life’s demands for energy at home or work. This session will focus on techniques that work well in our telehealth world, planning immediate depression interventions that lift the energy or turn the cognitions toward more positive thoughts and actions. You will learn pragmatic methods that allow your clients to become more productive and create new, more positive cognitions, tapping the power of neural networks to break the hold of depressive cognitions.
This is a non-interactive self-study course that was recorded from a live webinar presented by Dr. Margaret Wehrenberg on March 22, 2021
- Enhance motivation and mobilize the client with lethargy
- Diminish the impact of negative attention bias
- Build the brain circuitry for joy and positive emotions
- Stop the damage of chronic stress

- Reset the cognitive default to hopeless/helpless pessimistic style of depressed thinking
From the time of registration, you have six months to access the coursework.
