The goal of this course is to assist college counseling centers and agencies with the full implementation and management of teletherapy services and share how I assisted in the full implementation of teletherapy services at the University of South Carolina. Not all counselors have been trained in and/or are comfortable with providing teletherapy services. How do you decide who provides this service for your agency? There are hundreds of telehealth companies, videoconferencing companies and apps that provide services. How do you decide what company is best for your agency? There are so many things to think about (legal obligations, ethical obligations, licensure requirements, and technology requirements). How do you get started? This presentation will aim to answer each of these questions and will further show how we answered them at the University of South Carolina.
This is a non-interactive self-study course.
Instruction consists of 1 hour of video instruction and an evaluation.
Learning Objectives:
- Explore the decisions of who should provide teletherapy services within an agency.
- Describe a step-by-step guide for how to fully implement teletherapy.
- List key questions one should ask before and during the implementation process, discuss key management tips after implementation.
From the time of registration, you have six months to access the coursework.
