Description

This course does not offer CE Credits. The same course is available for purchase and offers 1 CE hour for behavioral health clinicians.  See "related products" below.

Juvenile sex offenders often face a double sentence: their actions and the struggle to find qualified treatment.

The scarcity of providers willing to offer them the crucial mental health services they desperately need leaves these youth with limited support and interventions to address their behavior and prevent reoffending.

The use of telemental health can change that.

Dr. April Crable, a recognized expert in teletherapy, crisis intervention, and sex offender treatment, has curated a one-hour self-study course that provides insights into how mental health practitioners like you can use telemental health to bridge the gap in providing convenient, appropriate mental health assessments and treatment to specialized treatment populations such as juvenile sex offenders.

In this non-interactive course, she addresses the challenges, benefits, and ethical implications of using teletherapy to treat this population.

By the end of this course, you will walk away with the essential skills and knowledge to reach and deliver effective treatment to juvenile sex offenders remotely, regardless of location.

You will learn to:

  • Understand the different types of juvenile sex offenders and their characteristics.
  • Identify the risks and needs associated with working with this population
  • Understand the benefits of using telemental health in treating juvenile sex offenders.
  • Navigate the ethical implications of using telemental health with juvenile sex offenders.
  • Evaluate the legal considerations and implications of providing telemental health services to juvenile sex offenders.

Plus, Dr. Crable will provide an overview of the current research regarding the use of telemental mental health and juvenile sex offenders.

Don't let limited access become a barrier to positive change.

Register today and arm yourself with the tools to deliver essential services and potentially transform the lives of these young people.
